Dr. Sue Yom is an expert in the radiation treatment and management of head, neck and lung cancers.

In her research, Yom studies chemoradiation (a combination of chemotherapy and radiation) for these cancers. She also investigates image-guided radiation therapy and ways to reduce toxic effects using focused radiation techniques, emerging biological agents and radiation protectants.

Yom earned her medical and doctoral degrees at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a residency in radiation oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Yom has received numerous awards recognizing her commitment to patient care and patient-oriented research.

    Dr. Yom was 100% awesome. She listened to my personal fears about radiation treatment, I was in the nuclear Navy and have a pretty ingrained fear of radiation. She took the time to explain how the radiation is controlled and isolated to specific areas and exactly what I would experience during treatment. I have had anxiety for a few weeks about radiation therapy until my visit with Dr. Yom. I left her office feeling confident I was in good hands and more optimistic about my future .

    Dr. Yom is very dedicated with her work as a doctor. She's a very caring doctor and response right away when you send message. It doesn't matter the day and time and she will response to your message. Not all doctors are like that. My husband and our family feels the caring that she provided and trying to help us for my husband cancer treatments. We really appreciate her as a caring doctor. Dr. Yom is an awesome doctor and we will recommend her 100% to our families and friends.
